They use terms like "evidently", "no doubt", "reasonably" just before introducing their flawed, pseudological conclusions. They are masters at sophistry to the ignorant, the gullible and the emotionally vulnerable.

Logic and perception-how the WT deceives
by DS211 inlogic and perception page 110-111 in how to teach your child (or jw) how to think.
"logic is the way scientists, or other people, have to present their ideas.
even if a scientific breakthrough came out through hunch or chance it must be presented as if it were the result of logic.

Can anyone help me trouble-shoot YouTube?
by Island Man intoday i notice that youtube videos aren't playing most of the time.
the youtube page loads fine but the videos mostly don't start at all when i play them, remaining in a perpetual initializing phase that ends with a message saying an error occurred and the video cannot be played at this time or something like that.
in some cases the video does start after a very long delay - exceeding 2 minutes - of the circular, strobing, initializing thingy.

New video of interviews with Famous active and former Jehovah's Witnesses
by jwfacts ini have put together a mash up of active and former jehovah's witnesses, including a number of interesting interviews.. http://youtu.be/ozwvh57erro.
as a side note, i hope it does not get removed for copyright violation, as software automatically scans for pieces of music and i have already received some violation messages.
the video does comply with fair usage laws, as the music is relevant to the commentary..

Today I notice that YouTube videos aren't playing most of the time. I'm only getting this problem with YouTube. Other sites are OK. And one more thing: I get the same problem if I try to play a YouTube video embedded in an outside page like on here.
Is anyone else getting this? What do you think could be the problem?

"Following this request, the DPI has made a decision to disassociate the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society of New Your as of 9 October 2001."
The Watchtower was disassociated! I wonder if U.N. officials shun members of the Gaffe-earning Body?

"How can girls guard against temptation in this sex-crazy world?"
by Apognophos inthis is from the questions from readers in the 12/15/61 watchtower.
i present it unabridged and without comment.
your own comments, however, are welcome.. "when a girl reaches the age of puberty or physical maturity, her body has developed in the matter of sex more than in the mind.

DINOSAURS - INFECTION AND INJURY
by Bloody Hotdogs! ini've been dying to ask this question for years:.
jws love to say they are not young earth creationists.
surely, then, they must accept that dinosaurs lived long before humans and original sin.

I think the standard WT explanation is that animals were not created to live forever.
But in my opinion that WT explanation paints Jokehova as being less than loving. Since even us "sinful" humans don't like to see animals suffer and die, how much more so should the perfectly loving and just Jokehova hate such a situation! So how could he have created animals without protection from sickness, pain and death? It makes no moral sense. It is indefensible!
It's one more powerful argument disproving the loving God of the bible.

Ever consider joining The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints?
by rawe inhas anyone here left jehovah's witnesses to join the churuch of jesus christ of latter-day saints?
what was your motivation for doing so and how has it worked out?.
if you haven't joined the lds or considered it, as an ex-jw, what is your general view of the lds faith?.

"Ever consider joining The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints?"
Hell no! I would forgive myself if I were born into the religion. But to actually join the religion as an adult with all the information out there proving it as rubbish - I would have to be a stupid fool!

Kingdom Ministry Feb 2014 has a couple interesting statements
by RayPublisher ini thought the kingdom ministry feb 2014 had a couple interesting things in it:.
1. a short talk encouraging the jw sales force to publicize the jw.org website at every opportunity.. 2. do not put out bibles on your table displays keep them hidden underneath.
i thought they were so p-p-p-p-proud of their new nwt??.

I think I see what they're doing. To cut costs, they're slowly phasing out the practice of mass producing literature for the public. The focus on jw.org is to get the public's and JW's attention to the internet - to get them used to the idea of going there for Watchtower information. Eventually the org can, in a few years, stop mass producing literature, under the guise of them modernising given that most people get info online as opposed to reading books. They would only produce bible study aids for the sole purpose of studying the bible and the ministry would focus on starting bible studies without any of the current practice of just placing magazines or books. Good bye, 'Offer for the month'! The only thing they'll still place are those new, cheaply designed tracts. Placing heavy literature would be replaced with directing people to the web site - maybe they will start leaving a little business card with the name and address of the kingdom hall, the times of the meetings and the jw.org website address. The days of placing magazines and books as an offer without a bible study attached, are numbered.

A bona fide Circuit Overseer endorses jw.net!
by abiather inthough he is a typical wt slave, we are like david and jonathan.. in my most intimate conversation with him, i asked him:.
how do you manage serving an organization built on inherent contradictions?.
he said: organization helps people to grow spiritual, like any other religious organizations do.

I wouldn't be surprised if there are awake C.O.s. I mean, think about it, how can men in such positions not be better placed than we are to see the organization for what it really is?
One time I heard a C.O. during a talk on the importance of showing brotherly love actually say something like this:
"If you don't have it [i.e. the capacity to show genuine brotherly love] then fake it until you get it."
I wonder if he was sharing with the audience what he had been told in 'C.O. School' . . .
